The Buffalo Wild Wings Pro-2 headed in to the final race at the Crandon International Off-Road Raceway looking to finish the year with a strong finish. The weekend kicked off downtown Crandon with a parade. Thousands of race fans got to check out the race trucks and meet their favorite drivers. Later in the afternoon Zane qualified the Buffalo Wild Wings Chevy for the Borg-Warner Shootout. Saturday a record crowd of over 30,000 spectators was on hand to catch all of the racing action. Coming into the weekend just 9 points out of the top 5 the season end was looking promising. Lady luck had a different idea, after strong starts Saturday and Sunday mechanical woes got the best of the Goodyear Silverado. Zane managed to gain some positions and held on to 6th place overall in points for the year. The team was able to ready the truck for the 14th Annual Borg-Warner Shootout. With trucks from the Pro-2, Pro-4, and Super Truck divisions a total of 21 trucks lined up for a chance of glory. Getting threw some early race accidents Zane found himself in 10th place. Putting in consistent fast laps Zane was able to maintain 10th place at the races end. Sky 1 Racing was proud to receive the 2008 Showmanship and Promotion Award from the World Series of Off-Road Racing. Competing in all 12 rounds of the WSORR schedule, the team traveled throughout the state promoting not only Buffalo Wild Wings but also WSORR and the Oshkosh races. “For our first year out the box I was happy finishing 6th in points and then to receive this award from WSORR is pretty cool,” Zane said. The team is already looking forward to next year.

Sky 1 Racing will be expanding the Off-Road team to include a SRT Stock Truck, driven by long time team member Mike LeRoy. Mike has been an instrumental part of the success of the Sno Cross and Off-Road teams. Mike got his start in off-road, racing an Enduro Truck during the 2007 season. We are looking forward to a great season in the Stock Truck Class.
